The upcoming new champion in League of Legends has been lurking in the shadows for quite a while now. Vex – the Gloomy Mage, appeared in the entire Ruination event and seemed to be Viego’s right hand in the entire event.
Previously thought to be “Norra,” Vex is an upcoming champion in League of Legends with an emo cut and dark circles under her eyes, which most of us can honestly relate to. The Riot team promised that every new champion, update, and event would be related to the Sentinels of Light event. All the new champions like Akshan, Gwen, and Viego have been associated with the said event so far, being the main characters in the Ruination event.
Who Is Vex in League of Legends?
As far as Vex is concerned, the upcoming Yordle will also be related to the event. Vex would be the League’s 157th champion (we have come so far). However, little is known about this little devil. According to a popular theory, Vex is actually Yuumi’s missing master who disappeared using the Book of Thresholds that Yuumi flies on.
The Mage loved exploring and disappearing into a dangerous place somewhere beyond the spirit realm. She played a huge part in Viego’s story, and we have yet to see whether or not her role has been fulfilled in the Ruined King’s story.
Vex Abilities
We only know a little about Vex, as Riot has managed to keep her abilities secret. That said, we know that this little devil easily gets annoyed when interacting with hyperactive champions dashing around her. It instantly angers her, and she starts hitting any lifeform around her that is apparently full of irritating happiness. It could be a slow or a dash reduction ability. Since Yordles in League often come with elemental or spiritual magic, Vex could have the same magical abilities.
Vex Skins
We don’t know anything for sure about Vex’s skins yet. Our team was expecting a new Vex skin in the Ruination event, but since the champion release got pushed to September, Riot did not release any skins for Vex in the event. However, according to the developer Ryan, Vex will be “shipped with a future event [read, not Sentinels of Light], and will get a skin within that skinline.”
So, good news, folks! There will be another huge event in League of Legends, most probably centered around this Gloomy Mage. We hope that the event itself will not be too gloomy!
Vex Release Date
According to the Twitter of LoL developer Ryan (@Reav3), Vex, the Gloomy Mage, will be released in September 2021. Stay tuned for the final release date that will be announced on the official League of Legends social media accounts. We will update you as soon as we hear the news.
