Updating the OS for your iPhone 5

Apple launches updates for their operating system in order to repair bugs, improve features and ensure the overall good performance of their software. Some of the changes may not have a significant impact in the functions of the OS but they can make things run effortlessly, giving you a better experience. Since the updates can allow apps and features to work smoothly, they can also help to extend the battery life of your iPhone. Updating the OS in your iPhone 5 only takes a few steps and is a very important thing to do if you want to get the best out of your device.   Keep in mind that it is advisable to update your OS when you do not require to use your iPhone as the installation may take a while and you will not be able to use your device as normal.
1. First of all, go to the Settings menu and select General.
2. Then tap Software Update. This will look for available updates for your iPhone’s OS.
3. Once the check has been completed, the screen will show you if you are using the latest version of OS, by letting you know that you are up to date. If new updates are found, tap Download And Install. Allow between 15 to 20 minutes for the updates to be installed. When the installation is completed, you will notice that your iPhone 5 is more stable and you will not use up as much battery life.
