Dell to launch low priced hybrid devices

After Lenovo and HP released flexible notebooks, Dell followed their steps to launch their own hybrid, the Inspiron 11 3000 Series. The device can be folded and turned into a tablet and its price of just $450 is set to attract a large number of user that want to enjoy the convenience of a 2 in 1 device that offers both a tablet and a notebook. The Inspiron 11 3000 is well built, has a slim design and counts with a comfortable keyboard. Dell’s 11.6-inch hybrid is similar to Lenovo’s IdeaPad Yoga and counts with a touchscreen display with a 1366×768 resolution.

One of the downsides of the Inspiron 11 3000 when compared to the Yoga by Lenovo is its weight. The Yoga is lighter and easier to carry than Dell’s device. However, the Inspiron 11 offers a stylish, compact design and a keyboard that can resist spillage. The Inspiron 11 is meant to offer a battery life of over 7 hours thanks to its 3-cell 43-wHr power source, which will be considerably longer than the 5 hours that the Yoga 11 provides.

The Inspiron 11 3000 will include three USB ports, a full-size SD card slot and HDMI which are the basic options that you will need for transferring data. In terms of performance, the Inspiron will be supported by its Intel Celeron Dual Core N2830 processor, 500GB hard drive and 4 GB of RAM. There is going to be a stronger version that will put the Inspiron 11 at the same level of Yoga 2 11, as it will use Pentium Quad Core N3530 CPU.

At the same time, Dell presented a 13-inch foldable device to accompany their Inspiron 11 3000. The Inspiron 13 7000 includes the option for a built-in passive stylus but it will not work in the same way as the Surface Pro 3, which features an active stylus. The Inspiron 13 7000 will be quite heavy (almost 3.7 pounds) to be used as a tablet, so the laptop function may take the main stage on this one. It will feature a Core i3/ i5 processor and 4GB/8GB of RAM, plus 500 GB hybrid hard drive. A touchscreen with a 1366×768 or higher resolution will be available in the 1080p IPS display.

The Inspiron 11 3000 and the 11 7000 will be available in the coming weeks and users will be able to judge is they are a better option than other foldable devices. By now, their low price seems to be their most attractive feature and the one that is set to gain Dell a lot of attention in the hybrid market.
